I'll test it as soon as I'm able, but precedent suggests the result won't be quite as dramatic as the SSD solution.Even over a year after you posted this, I can confirm it's still an issue, a big ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ issue. I always use mouse and keyboard for first-person games and only use the Xbox One controller for certain third-person games (like FFXV, Vampyr, etc.). This just started happening a couple weeks ago, so I immediately thought it was the new Adrenalin 2020 drivers, so I rolled back to the latest 2019 version. I'd never tried FFXV, so I downloaded it from Steam yesterday and gave it a shot. After 10 minutes playing-boom, knocked down to 4 frames per second from 50-60. Rebooted my PC and tried again only for the same thing to happen. After I rebooted a second time and loaded the game, I forgot to turn on the controller, so I just used the mouse and keyboard for a bit. After I was convinced the problem was no longer occurring, I picked up the controller and turned it on. I hadn't even been playing for 5 minutes when it happened again-4 frames per second down from 50-60. I immediately realized the controller was causing the issue the whole time. Flipping it over and pulling out the batteries fixed everything instantly.
